Caterina was outstanding. She was able to engage both children, 4 and 8, for 2.5 hours. In fact, my 4 year old was disappointed that she didn’t join us for lunch. She’s very knowledgeable and gave us a great insight into the history of Rome.

Cathy took us around Ancient Rome and kept our for children engaged (15, 13, 10 and 8). There is no way we could have covered as much ground on our own and if we tried we would have missed the details of the history behind the sites.

"My 20 year old daughter and I had a 2 hour private tour of the Colosseum, including the underground and stage areas, with Caterina. My daughter is not a history buff and she said afterwards she worried she might be bored but she loved it! My grandfather and I have not been able to see each other for over a year as we live across the USA from each other but this was a perfect way to enjoy our favorite artist together. Full day in Rome
" All that I can say is WOW! Our tour guide Caterina was awesome. If we had never asked a single question we would have had plenty of information to come away with. However, we asked a lot of questions that were thoroughly answered form food, culture, art, architecture and lifestyles both of ancient and modern Roman eras. Caterina made the tour personable and was quite the treat. From Ancient Rome, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain to the Vatican and all the points in-between.... the day flew by. We are all in our 50\'s and 60\'s and in good health and we feel we would have missed so much if we did a bus tour and had not actually walked the city. We had taken a short taxi ride from Spanish steps to the restaurant for lunch which afforded us more time to eat. The restaurant that Caterina chose for lunch was amazing for the pizza and it was just a short walk to the Vatican where we ended our full day tour. Caterina kept the walking pace easy and enjoyable. This walking tour went above and beyond our expectations and was well worth the value. We would recommend and share the experience to anyone making their way to the Eternal City of Rome. Customized Rome Tour with Capitoline Museums
"Kathy was an excellent guide and historian with a lot of insight into the meaning of many of the sculptures and artefacts that we saw on our tour. Because of the long lines to many of the attractions, she improvised and the tour of the museum was the highlight of the day. She was impressive on periods and dates regarding statues, ,paintings, artefacts, and architecture, giving history and anecdotes regarding the meaning and/or origin of these pieces. We ended up at the Church of St. Mary? (the oldest church in Rome) where a baptism was being held but the interior of this church as well as writings from the catacombs on the outside walls were impressive. While we did not wish to wait in tortuous long lines for some of the sites, Kathy was able to take us around the outside (e.g. the Fortress) and explain the connection between the Fortress and the Vatican enabling Popes to seek sanctuary in the Fortress. Many of the tidbits on the fountains we saw and the squares that we visited were items that we may not have gotten otherwise. I think we must have walked more than 9.8 miles on this tour!"

Tivoli: Hadrian's Villa & Villa D'Este
"We took a 6 hour private day tour of Hadrian's villa and Villa d'Este. Our guide, Caterina, met us at our hotel with a driver, and we proceeded to Hadrian's villa first. Her English language was impeccable, and she was very nice and knowledgeable, having a degree in art history. We spent several hours at the magnificent site, as she described what life must have been like in ancient times there if you were royalty, guests, or humble slave. We really felt she portrayed well the story the ruins revealed. We then had a short cafe style lunch and, as we were curious tourists, found out about modern life in the city of Rome. Onwards following lunch a short walk led us to Villa d'Este and its history and beautiful gardens and fountains. Our tour was very memorable, our guide Caterina was superb, and, although not inexpensive, we felt the sites and her insights were a very valuable experience for us. Highly recommended!"
